Privacy Policy

The contact form is the only place on this site where you can submit information. When you use it, I receive whatever you fill in:

Like any website, this one runs on a server that keeps request logs. Those logs record your IP address, browser and device type, the pages you requested, and the time you requested them. They exist so the site can be served and so I can diagnose problems and block abuse.

The form also includes a hidden field that people never see and automated spam bots tend to fill in. If it comes back filled, I treat the submission as spam.

This section is short because the list is short, and I would rather state it plainly than leave you guessing:

I use what you send to reply to you, to schedule and prepare the account review, to produce the Account Risk Read, and to carry out an engagement if we start one. That is the whole list. I do not add you to a marketing list, and I do not send newsletters.

I keep the number of companies involved as small as I can. Three are unavoidable:

Your submission is emailed to me. It is not written to a database, and this site has no stored record of it.

I keep inquiry emails for as long as it takes to respond and follow up, and generally no longer than twelve months after our last contact, at which point I delete them. If we begin an engagement, I keep what the work requires for as long as the engagement runs and for a reasonable period afterward for tax and record-keeping purposes. Server logs are retained on a short rolling basis by the host and are not something I keep copies of.

The work involves your client roster, which means I may see revenue figures, contact details, contract terms, and account history belonging to businesses that are not you and not me. I treat that material as confidential, use it only to do the work you have engaged me for, and do not disclose it to anyone else.

The Account Risk Read shown on this site is an illustrative sample. The client names in it are redacted because they are not real, and no client information from any engagement appears anywhere on this site.

The site is served over HTTPS, and connections are forced to stay encrypted. Because submissions go straight to email rather than into a database on this site, there is no stored pool of inquiries here for someone to breach. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, and I am not going to claim otherwise, but the surface here is deliberately small.

You can ask me what information I hold about you, ask me to correct it, or ask me to delete it. Write to me at the address below and I will act on it. Since everything I hold arrives by email and lives in my inbox, deletion is straightforward.

Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under your state or national privacy law. Tell me what you are asking for and I will honor it rather than make you cite a statute.

I work with agencies in the United States, and the services behind this site store information there. If you contact me from outside the United States, your information will be transferred to and handled in the United States, where privacy law may differ from your own.

This is a business-to-business site and it is not directed to children. I do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.

If I change how any of this works, I will update this page and change the date at the top. If a change is significant, I will say what changed rather than quietly swap the text.
